Radio TV Forum 2012

Tomorrow is the start of the two day RadioTV Forum in Rome which was started in 2006 and has become a centre of conversation on the Radio and TV sectors.

There are a number of exhibitors attending this year including satellite services provider SES who are a Gold Sponsor this year, 3G Electronics, Digital Broadcast Group, Sony and Tele Sat. The exhibitors will be split into a TV area and a Radio area in the Conference centre at the Hotel Melià Roma Aurelia Antica.

As well as the exhibitors, there will also be some speakers at the event which are official representatives of political institutions, industry experts all in aid of getting discussion going on the future of the industries etc.

Additionally there will be a workshop day which includes seminars, meetings and interactions with companies and a chance to have discussions on the future of the broadcasting world.

The event is a great time to discuss the changes in the Radio and TV industry and how the future of each industry will look. For example within the broadcasting industry, Social and Smart TV is taking off with more shows incorporating social media in their live programme. Within Radio, the interaction and use of the internet is becoming more integral to the programme such as BBC Radio 1 using it’s live webcams for celebrity interviews etc.
